Open position

Finance Support Officer

Amsterdam

Paal15 is a strategic positioning and go-to-market agency, helping tech companies worldwide realise their ambitions. We’re an international operation with customers and partners in more than 25 countries, and offices in Amsterdam, London and Sydney.

We’re ambitious: we think it’s important to challenge ourselves and others to make an impact. For this role, you will be working with the Operations team in our HQ, just a few minutes outside Amsterdam. You will wield a lot of power as the first point of contact for all internal and external finance, bookkeeping, and legal related enquiries—use it wisely—and will also support the management team directly by reporting business insights and monitoring specific KPIs. And as an added bonus, you might make some friends. We regularly go out for dinner and drinks, organise sporting events, and have a good laugh.

But enough about us. Let’s talk about you.

How ‘unicorn’ are you?

We’re looking for a problem solver, can-do-mentality, self-confident, eye for detail, communicative, pragmatic, preferably outgoing, team player, outcome driven, critical, flexible, organised, creative, self-starting, committed, and stress-resistant… But no pressure.

Just 25000 questions today?

Prepare for questions. Since you’ll be the main “invoice” person, it means you’ll also be the go-to person for a lot of things, from answering customer T&Cs questions to internal invoice and payment queries, to managing our finance email, to supplier management.

Can you Marie Kondo our workplace?

We need an organizational master who can keep everything up-to-date, including accounts payables and receivables, managing bank transactions, low touch accounting, preparation of salaries, general payments, and following up on outstanding estimates.

Requirements for the role

24 - 40 hours/week (we’re able to be flexible and work around your schedule to an extent.) Min 2 years of working experience (bonus if in an international environment/multiple languages.) A Bachelors degree. Clear knowledge of finance functions (PO numbers, general ledger, etc– even though you are not doing the day-to-day accountant’s work.) Comfortable with modern technology and tooling (experience with Exact Online a plus.)

Skills

Basic data analytics skills are a plus. Working with tight deadlines. Fluent in both Dutch and English (both verbally and in writing.) Good interpersonal and communication skills. Self-management. Proactive and service minded.

Apply now

We are trying to find someone pretty soon so don’t delay getting in touch. All we need is a cover letter and CV with your contact details to consider you for the role. If you get the job, we’ll help you fake your death to get out of your previous role’s notice period.

Thank You!

We have successfully received your application and will get back to you as soon as possible.
